In May, a 1/2 inch gap where the 1890's portion and 1950's portion connect appeared while leveling the house. To remedy this, we purchased 250 feet of 3/8 inch stainless cable (to be re-purposed into an awesome zip line from barn to willow tree fort), two 2200lb pulleys, and 10 inch long 1/2 inch diameter bolts. Wrapping these back and forth under the house thrice and pulling with the big blue truck merely broke a pulley and a tow strap. What was gained? A resolution that this house divided must stand, and be sealed with spray foam. Unfortunately I did not get more pictures of the 3/8 inch cable so tight it could be plucked like a guitar string.
