Occurred over the week of 10/27-11/2/19
Dad rented an excavator and for one busy week totally transformed the large (originally the stallion pasture) ground piece into a terraced and graveled place. Also, he leveled the front yard and behind the house and to the east of the house, over top of the septic tank. He also dug a sort of pond thing down at the bottom of the property. The top picture is a picture taken from the top of the road looking down, the house is to the right and unseen in the picture, the top right picture is a picture of the graveled drive way, the road is up on the left, the picture below this text is before the gravel and clearly shows some of the terracing, the picture to the right of it is a view from near the front door showing the front yard, and the big picture second to the bottom picture shows the east side, over top of the septic tank, and the very bottom is a view of the back of the house just before it was completely leveled.

We poured concrete cylinders underneath the four big posts, and with a lot of two by sixes we made a pretty deck with Trex decking. Eventually we put a railing up on the top part, and the upstairs leads out onto the deck with a beautiful view.
![]() We poured the south facing wall's foundation before Jamin White had spray foamed the rest of the crawlspace. This foundation part was our first big pouring concrete job and it was not perfect. We had several leaks, and it took much longer than expected, but eventually we got it done! Dad and Papa built a 'concrete directing' machine that would pour directly into the form of the foundation. The dug out trench, as shown in the first picture, was impossible to pour from, so this elongated contraption, with the mixer sitting up on the bank, was very handy.
We have had this little ferret Rascal for almost a year. He is from our aunt and uncle, and we are ferret sitting him for them. He has been a delight to us all, and we grow sad as the departure of Rascal comes nearer.
We ran out of time and resources to finish the house this year, so we are coming back to Moscow. This could be beneficial, because Dad can then focus on his PhD, and we kids can then continue with our homeschool. So we took all the bedding and clothes home and other things, and washed them. Then we set up bed in Moscow, and cleaned up the house and arranged stuff, and now we are living in the Moscow house. We still go out every day, but one kid stays with Dad while all the rest go home with Mom for the night. We will continue going out to Garfield for the next two weeks, and after that we will stay in Moscow. Our cow will be going out to my Aunt's house, and we still don't know what to do with our kittie Speckles. But I will still be glad to be in Moscow because the house is warm and I can't wait to play in the snow again here!
Above is another member of the family meeting, a rather small member...
We got some alfalfa hay, and throwing it on the ground for Delight meant she stepped on it and fertilized it. So Mom and I took an old bathtub down there and put the hay in it. With her head she threw it out, making no improvement. Dad then determined to make a feeder so that she could not throw it with her head. On top of the bathtub he built the structure, with sheet metal on top to keep the rain off, and she now cannot throw the hay out.
