While we learned our lesson last year - delaying farm activities in favor of construction - we excitedly broke our own rule, asking our very generous cow-sitter, Rusty, to bring Delight and Bella back to feast on the surfeit of grass and forbs. They arrived in high spirits. Delight allowed us to brush her almost immediately. We turned them out onto an acre with a large water trough and minerals, allowing us to minimally manage them over the next several weeks.
Note the two distinct single-strand-poly-wire fences separated by about 18 inches (just above the cows in the picture). Each one runs off of a different electric fence charger. In the picture, the cows and I are in the receiving location prior to loosing them into their now permanent home.
