As of September 21, Washington State Department of Agriculture's Food Safety manager in our region has approved the alteration of the RV shelter into the floor plan shown below. Note the bed in the Milk Parlor room is really a milking stanchion (a drawing not available in Chief Architect) - yes the building inspector clarified this before mentioning that we needed city approval to have an "additional residence."
No, the children will not be sleeping in the milk parlor.... The building inspector also approved our addition of seven 6x6 treated posts set 40" deep in concrete to support the existing 480sqft roof - allowing it to be living space instead of shed/RV space. Note it will also be supported by the 21 existing 4x4 posts in 8" concrete tubes. The picture below shows one pillar installation. We are approved to process 5 cows' milk for retail raw milk sales, and 1000+ broilers, 20 pigs, and 3 beef per year for retail meat sales in this facility!
