Price: We invite milk recipients (you) to join in our endeavors through contributions. To learn how much it costs us to produce the milk, view this linked PDF.
Availability: Milk comes in 1/2 gal and 1 gal glass jars.
Check out this spreadsheet to see how much is available for weekly ordering (in May, we will have lots of milk). Our milk production ebbs and flows with the seasons. We have extra from May-Sept, so that's the best time to stock up on yellow, nutrient dense butter and cheese, and, if necessary, freeze milk for the winter. If we have to ration, we do so by household size and health factors. Ordering: Please fill out the form, and we will contact you. We accept cash or check only. Make checks payable to Abundance Endeavors.
If needed, you can mail payment to: PO Box 52 Garfield, WA 99130 Pickup of milk is on-farm, but in June 2023, we hope to add a drop-site in Pullman. |
Grade "A" Whole Raw Cows' Milk
|
Cows & Calves
Our raw milk comes from our lovely Brown Swiss (Jewel, Liberty, Feliz, and Vonda), and Swiss x Jersey (in 2024 Trish and Ultima) cows. All our cows have Beta-Casein type A2 milk. Our ladies graze from late April to early October, weather permitting, and eat grass and alfalfa hay in the winter months. Twice a day at milking time we feed them about 2 pounds of a locally grown non-GMO pea-barley mix from Zaks Feed, alfalfa pellets, and minerals. Feeding less grain maintains their health and longevity, improves their milk's nutrient profile, but sacrifices daily production.
Our calves are given colostrum for their first three days, and then enjoy plenty of whole milk, hay, and grass when in season.
If you would ever like to meet our animals or try your hand at milking, we would be delighted. |
Frequently Asked Questions
can i tour your facility?
We love to give tours of our dairy and farm! Please contact us to schedule a time.
does my fridge temperature matter?
Raw milk lasts longer and tastes fresher if your fridge is kept below 35 F, so it is best to turn your fridge down. It also adds shelf life to not store it in the door and to transport it home in a cooler with ice.
can you sell other raw dairy products like cheese and cream?
In addition to raw whole milk, we are allowed to produce hand-skimmed milk and cream or raw milk cheese aged over 60 days and processed in a certified creamery space. Yogurt, kefir, sour cream, butter, non-aged soft and hard cheeses, and cottage cheese must be pasteurized and processed in a certified facility to legally provide them. Hand skimming is not economically viable for us, and we do not yet have a certified creamery, so we provide our milk in wide-mouth jars so that customers can hand skim the cream after it sits in the fridge 24 to 48 hours. We encourage customers to make raw butter, sour cream, kefir, and non-aged cheeses like we do!
how do you make raw butter, soft or hard cheeses, sour cream, etc.?
Most of what we know we learned from our two favorite dairy recipe books.
"The Art of Natural Cheesemaking" by David Asher
"Home Cheese Making" by Ricki Carroll 3rd Edition
We are happy to teach or share how we make sour cream, butter, soft and hard cheese, cottage cheese, and kefir. We are currently learning new methods for pasteurized yogurt from David Asher's book. We could team up on purchasing starters - ask if interested.

What are your Milk Pickup hours?
Customers may pickup milk 6 days a week from 6am-9pm. We are closed Sundays.
Can I pickup milk for a group?
We encourage you to create group milk pickups, we are happy to try and connect you with other milk customers in your area if available. Please contact us to schedule a pickup to ensure we have an adequate supply on the selected day.
what happens if i break a jar?
Please pay $5 for each broken jar. If possible, save the lid and the labels as these cost $0.32 each. You can peel the labels off and place them on another milk jar, or bring the broken jar and we will remove and reuse the labels.
do you have other retail outlets or milk drop locations?
Currently our milk is available only at our farm. If you or someone you know has an extra fridge and would like to be a drop point for individuals, please let us know. We are open to other ideas or proposals.
