Tilling and seeding... in January? Josh

Gotta love unseasonally warm weather! After the harrow failed to dig in adequately (kids had fun), we hooked up the tiller and tilled almost a half acre of sod. Being too soft to plant grass, we tried a sheet of plywood with concrete bags + kiddos as weight and got the tractor stuck repeatedly (and moved about 1000lbs of concrete on and off the plywood four times). We then tried dragging a big tire with the kids as weights, which worked until it filled with dirt and got the tractor stuck. After it for about 5 hours of dragging the tire while the kids smashed clods, we seeded a cover crop and pasture mix, finishing as large flakes of snow fell.
