With remarkable swiftness, Chris came up to speed on hardy panel siding installation and bumped up the install quality substantially. We managed to get seams centered over/under doors/windows/roof peak, while maintaining 24" centers for battens (not yet installed) and even fitting a piece perfectly over the plumbing vent under the peak.
Once again, "thank you Chris" is the anthem of the day. And oh the early-May weather....

January through April, 2019, the family teamed up with our God-sent helper Chris (posing in bottom picture), and hired sheetrockers (Jose et al.) to get the sheetrock hung, taped, and textured with the skip-trowel method.
Pulling the 8" insulated ducting through after the drywall was a job suited to Kellen whose size/skill ratio was perfect to crawl through the top of the "A" in the second story pulling a duct. He is pictured standing on my shoulder as he climbed into the ceiling cave.
It all began with a little bike that we took the pedals off 2 months ago, essentially creating a cheap version of a balance bike. Then at a garage sale today we picked up a little bigger bike and headed to the park. Joseph hopped on with a little assistance and was off and pedaling. Joshy was not to be outdone and took his turn with the same outcome. They continued to ride unassisted for the next hour. We are so excited to take some family bike rides (once they learn how to use the brakes!!)
We began to use the old boards from the garage/shed we tore down in 2017. First we lightly sanded the boards, then routered the edges to be like shiplap and finally covered them with a layer of polyurethane. The boards are so beautiful!
We spent a couple of weeks looking for sheet vinyl and kept coming to dead ends. All the shipping times were 2-3 weeks out and the flooring cost around $3/sq/ft. We wanted the Armstrong, Diamond 10 Technology Premium Sheet Vinyl because of its endurance and warranty. We finally found a rustic wood look, at half the price from Higginsons in Pullman WA, plus installation. We were so excited and now have the flooring done for the kitchen, entry and bathrooms.
