At 8 years old, we expected her to calve last April, but to our dismay she had miscarried after a positive pregnancy test. We kept her anyway because she was such a good cow. This year she calved a half-Jersey future replacement Ultima, and was producing between 6 and 7 gallons a day on hay. - to us, that's a lot on hay. Then after a few days on pasture, she produced 6 gallons IN ONE MORNING! That peak day, she produced 10.7 gallons. This is Ash milking her this morning when she gave 5.7 gallons. I was curious, what does an udder look like when it has almost 6 gallons in it?
